Sometimes you just want to dig a whole and stay in there. For an hour, for a day, or maybe for the whole of winter, hibernating. It could be burnout, depression, grief or simply fatigue. It’s might be hard to find the motivation to get up, shower, get dressed and get the day started. It can be hard to gather the motivation to get going but the best thing to do is to allow yourself to indulge in a bit of nothing and to prepare a short mental list of achievable steps. Before you know it, you’re up, you’re ticking those things off the mental list and the day is going, you might be getting some sense of satisfaction from those checks or you might just find it helps you get through another day.
