Who to talk to?

In addition to talking to close friends and relatives and opening up to them about what’s going on, sharing fears, angst or simply just saying “I’m not well”, there are numerous charities out there to turn to so I thought I’d share a handful throughout the month.

SAMARITANS: this is a charity that is all over Europe and are reachable via the same number wherever you’re calling from: 116 123 . They offer emergency support at any time of the day http://www.samaritans.org.uk

MIND.ORG: this is a predominantly UK based charity they have online resources and also offer phone support, ensuring you have the right help. They’re campaigning big time right now to ensure those affected by lockdown are not left alone. http://www.mind.org.uk

MEN’S HEALTH FORUM: Offering 24/7 support for men online (search available by postcode and service. Some great testimonies written by everyday men sharing their story and their tips. http://www.menshealthforum.org.uk/male-health

PAPYRUS: preventing young suicide, helpful site wi5h resources and phone lines available (check pending hours first). Also helpful for those who are calling for someone else.

SMART Recovery UK: help people identify if they have problems with alcohol, drugs, and support them to find a path to recovery and encourage them to go through with it.
