Yoga Nidra, comes from Sanskrit for sleep (nidra). Powerful practice which has benefits for the nervous cardiovascular and even hormone regulatory systems is based on the achievement and sustained tipping point between dream and awakedness. Through a sense of deep relaxation, the aim is to quiet the mind, tap into the creative juices. The process works through three layers: the physical, emotional, consciousness, releasing tensions through the stages. It lasts between 20 and 45 minutes, and is said to help attain the “superconscious”, the most optimum state to manifest an intention that will become real within a few practices. Some research have shown an evolution in the central nervous system, improvement in behaviour and learning capabilities. Link here for a YouTube version of a nidra practice. Just lie down somewhere comfortable, flop into shavasana, and get ready to reach your zen. https://youtu.be/aUniivc75CI
